Senior AI Governance & Architecture Expert

As a Senior AI Governance & Architecture Expert, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering AI-driven transformations for our clients.

You will combine strategic thinking with deep technical expertise to define scalable AI architectures, establish effective governance frameworks, and guide the responsible adoption of AI across complex enterprise environments.

Working closely with client leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams, you will help organizations move from AI experimentation to scalable, secure, and sustainable implementation.

The role

• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise AI architectures, ensuring scalability, security, interoperability, and alignment with business objectives. 
• Define and establish AI governance frameworks, including policies, standards, risk management processes, and model lifecycle management. 
• Guide clients in the responsible adoption of AI, ensuring alignment with applicable regulatory requirements and recognized industry standards, including the EU AI Act and GDPR. 
• Design architectures supporting traditional machine learning, generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and AI agents. 
• Assess existing client technology landscapes and define target architectures and implementation roadmaps for AI adoption. 
• Establish standards and best practices for MLOps, LLMOps, model monitoring, and the integration of AI solutions into enterprise systems. 
• Translate business requirements into technical architecture and governance requirements, working closely with client leadership and technical teams. 
• Evaluate AI technologies, platforms, and third-party solutions, providing recommendations based on business needs, technical feasibility, and long-term sustainability. 
• Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance throughout the development and deployment of AI solutions. 
• Collaborate with EFESO consultants, data scientists, and client teams to ensure successful project execution and sustainable capability development. 
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, supporting strategic decisions regarding AI adoption, technology investments, and enterprise transformation. 
• Contribute to the development of EFESO's Industrial AI capabilities, methodologies, and service offerings. 

We are looking for an experienced AI professional who combines strong technical expertise with an understanding of enterprise environments, business transformation, and the challenges associated with scaling AI solutions.

You are comfortable engaging with senior business and technical stakeholders while maintaining a hands-on understanding of modern AI technologies and architectures.

You bring:

• Significant professional experience in AI, enterprise architecture, data architecture, or related technology disciplines, with a proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise AI solutions. 
• Strong knowledge of AI governance, responsible AI principles, risk management, and model lifecycle management. 
• Proven experience designing scalable architectures for machine learning, generative AI, and enterprise AI applications. 
• Strong understanding of large language models, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, and their integration into enterprise environments. 
• Experience with cloud-based AI and data platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, or Databricks. 
• Practical knowledge of MLOps, LLMOps, model deployment, monitoring, and production AI systems. 
• Familiarity with relevant AI governance and regulatory frameworks, including the EU AI Act, GDPR, ISO/IEC 42001, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. 
• Experience defining technical standards, reference architectures, and implementation roadmaps. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business recommendations. 
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical teams and senior management. 
• A pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset and the ability to balance innovation, business value, and governance requirements. 
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams in an international consulting environment. 

Educational requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience. 
• Excellent working proficiency in English. 

Additional qualifications considered an advantage

• Previous experience in management consulting or delivering AI transformation programs for large organizations. 
• Experience implementing AI solutions in manufacturing, supply chain management, operational excellence, or other industrial environments. 
• Experience with Microsoft Azure AI, Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI Foundry, or Databricks. 
• Relevant certifications in enterprise architecture, cloud architecture, AI governance, or information security. 
• Experience leading technical teams or mentoring data scientists and AI engineers.
